Bahco Folding Pruning Saw 396-HP
Bahco Folding Pruning Saw 396-HP is the perfect size for pockets, its has a strong 2 component plastic handle with comfortable grip, the safety button has to be pressed to both open & close the blade. Its a multipurpose saw with hardpoint teeth, I sell the saw with the fine toothed blade ideal for a small folding pocket saw but there are two other blade options with the same length but different teeth the JS blade has longer teeth & an extra wide gullet for faster cutting in thicker green branches. The JT blade also has bigger teeth with a black coating on the blade for living wood in Winter pruning.
The Arthur & Strange Opinion
This is my favourite pruning saw and I am never without it, its so easy to use. The fine toothed blade enables you to make a clean first cut without scaring the rest of the branch. The silver finish on the blade glides thru the cut far easier than the black finished blade hence why I sell this model. I have been using these saws for over 10 years and have never had a blade snap on me yet, I would highly recommend these saws to anyone and that you try the silver fine tooth blade first, Bahco claim this blade is for hard dry wood but that isn’t my experience I find it simply brilliant for pruning all manor of things all thru the year.
I do so much pruning I change blades twice a year but 90% of people would get at least a year maybe 18 months out of a blade and of course much longer if you don’t use it very often. The new replacement blades are half the price of the saw and so easy to change there is no wastage as you don’t have to throw away a good saw, just change the blade. Pruning is so easy with a new blade you always wish you had done it sooner.
I stock spare blades for all the saws I sell and will change the blade for you at one of the events I attend over the year.
Check out the two Okatsune double holsters i also sell so you can have you Secateurs and Pruning saw on your hip together and then nothing to put in your pockets or fall out of them.
